Grandpa cooks

Churrasco=BBQ South American style. My Dad greeted us on the first day with this BBQ. I has always being one of his specialties and since I was a kid I remember him having friends or family over for a BBQ. We even had the president of CR in 1980 for a Churrasco. In USA is called Brazilian BBQ and usually cost around $60 per person to eat at a restaurant with this type of food. I appreciate growing up eating it, but most of all it has always brought the family and friends together.

The cutting of the meat

Kristina helps and show off her cutting meat skills. (It is one of my big things at the table at home, she must eat like a lady)

On our last night in CR he greets us as we return from the beach with a big pot of Paraguayan soup. Babushka Mami pours the broth, next to it the veggies (corn, yucca) and meat that cooked in the soup plus rice.

The gang eats. This night we had my two sisters and their husbands, my cousin (born in Colombia) and my youngest uncle visiting from Spain with is family. Notice the size of table my parents have in the dinning room. They love company!

Babushka Mami cools the soup for Kristina.

Kristina gracefully tells Grandpa that the soups "is great", while the other kids wait for pizza in the game room. May be I am getting somewhere with the table manners. Grandpa was impressed. She sat with all adults and behaved accordingly. Granted she has her moments but this time we all appreciated her graceful presence.

And when my Dad is not cooking or asking my mom to take him somewhere he is writing. My Mami, not much posted about her is a wonderful woman, mom, grandmother. She has always demonstrated nothing but love and support to her daughters, to her husband and to her family. She is the glue of the family.
